Awareness on Electronic Meters

 

The Commission is making consistent efforts to increase awareness on meters amongst the Consumers in the NCT of Delhi. The Commission has issued Public Notices in this regard and separately has given specific directions to the Discoms on how to approach the problem of "bunching of neutral wires"

a) Increase public awareness about functioning of Electronic Meters
b) Problem of ‘neutral wire’ vis-ŕ-vis the electronic meters 

Delhi Electricity Supply Code and Performance Standards Regulations, 2007

Clause 37(i) of draft Supply Code and Performance Standards Regulations, 2007 refers to the problem of leakage in the customer premises. The clause reads as follows :
The meter shall be read once in every billing cycle. It shall be the duty of Licensee official reading the meter to check condition of LEDs on electronic meters. In case E/L LED indicator, provided on electronic meters, is found ‘ON’ he shall inform the consumer that there is leakage in the premises and advise him to get his wiring checked and leakage removed. He shall also inform concerned district manager about the leakage
